Erwin-Penland's Andy Mendelsohn Receives Coveted Silver Medal Award

AAF Honor Recognizes Outstanding Professional Achievement
GREENVILLE, S.C. [March 4, 2010] –The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of Greenville tonight will give its highest individual honor, the Silver Medal Award, to Andy Mendelsohn, senior vice president and executive creative director for the region’s largest full-service marketing firm, Erwin-Penland.
Mendelsohn will receive the Silver Medal honor at an awards ceremony this evening at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in downtown Greenville. Established in 1959, the Silver Medal Award program recognizes the efforts of individuals to further the industry’s standards of creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Recipients for the award are nominated by their peers and selected by a panel of judges comprised of industry experts from Greenville’s AAF chapter.
Over his 27-year career, Mendelsohn has delivered inspiring creative for such marquee accounts as Heineken, Tylenol, Lexmark, Panasonic and Daimler Chrysler. Now celebrating his fifth year at EP, he supervises all development and execution of the agency’s creative work for clients that include BI-LO, Verizon Wireless, ScanSource, Advance America and Denny’s. A tireless supporter of a number of worthwhile causes in the Upstate, Mendelsohn has also contributed his talents to inspiring campaigns addressing such issues as diversity and equality, public education and responsible alcohol consumption.
According to the anonymous submission for Mendelsohn’s Silver Medal Award: “From a creative standpoint, Andy is one of -- if not the -- top creative minds in the region. Mendelsohn has previously been recognized with a variety of advertising industry accolades including the Communicator Award, One Show Award and Mercury Award, as well as numerous National ADDY awards.
